Sikorsky Global Helicopters will be showing "our softer side" as we strive to save homeless animals by uniting them with new families and collect donations to aid pet assistance organizations in Chester County. We'll also be collecting food, blankets, toys, leashes and other pet needs. People food and refreshments available too!

Monday October 5th - Eric DiLabbio Memorial Golf Tournament
Sikorsky Global Helicopters is honored to celebrate the memory of our beloved friend and will sponsor a golf outing to raise funds to assist the family in their plans to build a playground in a local Chester County Park in Eric’s memory and are looking for individuals interested in playing in the tournament or donate/sponsor the event. Sikorsky Global Helicopters in Coatesville is having a Charity event on July 25th to benefit their Community Giving Campaign for 2009. See our Flyer for more information and to register for the bake sale or flea market.

March 2009 - Sikorsky Red Cross Blood Drive
On Monday, March 2 Sikorsky Global Helicopters hosted a local blood drive through the Red Cross at their Coatesville location. 67 donors had pre-registered for the event. Monday morning arrived with mother-nature dropping 5-10 inches of snow around the area and although it prevented some from making it to the blood drive site they had a successful day. The blood drive ran from 7am until 7 pm and 46 donors were able to make it in and the Red Cross was able to collect 39 units which will help saves 117 lives. Sikorsky Global Helicopters collected about 16% of the blood in their region on that day. Those employees who were unable to make it have inquired about re-scheduling a ½ day make up event so they will be able to donate.
The need for blood donations is constant. Someone in the
United States
needs blood every 2 seconds. By age 72, 84% of the population will need blood or a blood product. Yet only 5% of the eligible population donates blood. The main reason given for not donating, according to American Red Cross research, is no one asked non-donors to participate.
So many charities and non-profit organizations are seeing the results of the economy crunch but this is one donation that doesn’t cost anything, but gives life.

February 2009 - Charity Spaghetti Lunch
On February 11th, Sikorsky Global Helicopters in
Coatesville
,
PA
held an Employee Charity Spaghetti Lunch for their first and second shifts. Employees volunteered and served approximately 60 meals which consist of spaghetti in marinara sauce, meatballs in sauce, tossed green salad with dressing, assorted dinner rolls with butter grated parmesan cheese, bottled water and a chocolate treat in honor of Valentine’s Day. Proceeds benefit the 2009 Community Giving Campaign.
